25th January 2020
The first show of the year. And full of success. Last year in this place we commeneed a chase after the Polish beauty champion. Who would have said that in one-year-time we could have almost been the champion but Valentina became the mother of our first litter.
I really appreciate this victory. Valentina obtained great evaluation from a judge who is a real whippet expert and knows what he talks about. Mr Janusz Opara/PL. There were four bitches in our class and I have to say that Valentina managet it without difficulty. The judge did not hesitate one second and sent us directly to the first place. On the first position we ran around the exposition ring where Valentina was able to show her movement. And this is something she manges perfectly! The first place with an Eccellent result 1 CWC referred us to the battle of the best bitch in the beerd and were equal to the German champion. When judging in tghe ring it was obvious the judge hesitates who to give the title to. Unfortunately, the winner was out opponent who really had the champion qualities. We were satisfied with the CWC that makes us meet two thirds of conditions to receive the polish beauty champion.

12th January 2020 - Coursing, training and licence organised by Moravia Coursing. www.moravsky-coursing.cz
I have to admin that I am not a fan of animal sports. I am worried for the animals. It seems silly to me to risk the animal health of dog or horses for fun and what is more for money. But when you see them how enjoy run the lure... I gave in and decided to take part in few training with Valentina and if she is gifted, I will eventually get my licence and try to contest.
Immediately the first race (seeing the lure for the very first time) she fixed perfectly the lure, did not hesitate at all and raced the solo race like a pro. It was said to have succeeded as most of the dogs do not even start or finish their first race. Valentina also accomplished the second race which was even longer. The weather spoilt us too as it was all sunny although it was cold and windy.
I have four whippets at home. My first one Angelika who adored running unfortunately almost lost her life in her 15 months when racing. She bares the consequences that do not permit her to run any more. The second one Karlyn runs voluntarily only if it is for food. If I wanted to take Karlyn to the training, could suggest to replace her lure with a piece of meat but I am afraid it won't pass. The bottom line is that if I omit Berroo as she is too young, the only one to represent our family in coursing is Valentina. We will see ...
7th & 8th December 2019
Our last show of this year led us to Nitra in Slovakia. Traditionally organised winter show, spreading Christmas atmosphere, started on Friday 6th December and ended on Sunday 8th December. The girls and I only took part in the weekend show. Literally Valentina, her daughter Berroo soaked the show atmosphere and made company to her mum.
On Saturday, there were only 3 bitches which was a great number for an international show. We were dreaming of success. Unfortunately, everybody noticed, we again ended second. We were unhappy and hopeless and felt like making our luggage and heading for home, no matter there was a Sunday show. Finally, we came determined on Sunday and the 2nd place curse was partially broken. Valentina won her Class and started the contest for a Slovak Beauty Champion and took part in BOB and CACIB contest where was beaten by her sister. We obtained Res.CACIB which is our favourite 2nd place again but a higher level :-)
Generally, it was a successful ending of the season and we can't wait for the new adventures.
Here are the result:

15th November 2019 - Six months have flown quick. All 7 puppies live their active lives with their new families which are as well my families. We all keep in touch and I am happy for that. We share everyday pleasures and sorrows of raising whippet teenagres.
The first born Bastik, now Barney, is a handsome and sturdy dog. Unfortunately, the testicle issue is still the same and it is for sure now that he will have one for life. It is real pity. I do not have Barney's six-month old picture. But his owners are great and I hope to get one soon.
The second born Olin, with new name Arišek, (pic.no. 1,2) is Mr. Incredible. The owner takes great care of his training and education and I cannot wait for the next visit. Last time he came to say hello to his brother Mirďa before leaving for his new home. All three together with the sister Berroo enjoyed the run in the garden under supervision of thier crazy mum who did not believe her offspring is returning back home (pic.no. 3)

Fló has become Jessica and gives Joy to her master in Vienna. After few starting difficulties, the things have got in order and it looks like they make a great team. Jess is literally the copy of her mother so I can underestand it took a lot of efforts to master her. Jess is a female with an incredible energy and intellect and she undertakes all the activities with great passion. They are fully discovering activities such canicross, dogfrisbee (pic.no. 5) and "puller"training ... Such pleasure as it occupies her head and she becomes calm and controllable. Great job. Moreover she is becoming a beautiful female that easily succeed at a show (pic.no. 4).
Our Berroo is a copy of her father (pic.no. 7). She is happy and alwas smiley (pic.no. 6) and at this moment getting crazy her mum. She does not leave her in peace. She always fight her, bites nad nibbles her. She loves her "dog aunties". She actually loves everybody and everything. She is amazing and I do not regret keeping her home.
The destiny brought Mirďa to an active family in Prague. Mirďa without problems blended in and became a real member of that family. During this short period of time he has already enjoyed plenty of fun moments and trips. He attends a dog kindergarten. He loves it and he has found many new dog friends. He also visited the Alps, a wine cellar (pic.no. 8) and he has also payed us a visit to show us how he grown. In the beginning he was going to job with his mistress (pic.no. 9) but now he masters to be home alone. I am very happy they were able to deal with situation so well. He really east a spell on his owners. The masters often call and mail me and they do not hesitate to ask an advice. This is the best feeling and a complete satisfaction of my breeding job.
The beautiful Líza, now Lyra (pic.no. 10) surprised us badly by fighting for her life. I will never forget the call. Lyra was fighting for her life in Brno hospital, it was liver failure. It might have been a secondary poisoning but the real reason has never been proved. All indicated that she ate or licked something poisoned when walking outside. It was a long week and I was expecting the worst news. Finally, Lyra has overcome and it was a load off our minds! She is now happily running around and accompanies her mistress who really desired her a lot. I can imagine how much the loss of Lyra would affect her. After this experience, I warned all masters to look after their puppies so they do not eat or lick inappropriate objects. The results might be fatal!

And finally our little Mal, newly Mia (pic.no. 12). Our most spoilt whippet being makes her family happy but also stressful, unfortunately. She shares the masters' bed (pic.no. 13) and generally she does what she wants. We stay in touch with the master and try to solve the problem. I am sure that the gilrs will get over and they will clarify who is the real master. Mia is still quite tiny but she has a good appetite and when she is grown up, she definitely will be a beautiful female dog, Berroo twin (pic.no. 14) and the daughter of her father.

It was a few pieces of news about my baby dogs and their new lives. They are becoming teenagers and I am sure they will prepare a lot of fabulous experiences to their masters. I just hope that it will be only happy experiences and I cross my fingers!

26th and 27th October 2019
Initially I did not want to participate in this competition. I do not like international shows at all. I do not even know why I finally decided to go. Both days whippets were judged by foreign judges, one of them was from Finland and the other judge was apparently a whippet breeder and expert from Australia. Anyways I felt in my bones we would be second. And this was the ease! It might be the problem. I must change my approach and leave for every show with a winning attitude. I cannot let any negative thought come into my mind!
On Saturday Bratislava woke up with a sunny weather, show was speedy and considering Valentina's second place we did not wait for final competition and better left for a city tour.
Sunday was approached in the same spirit but the result was a bit worse. Immediately after assessment we made our luggage and went home.

I am a great patriot and I love my little country. And also love the place where I live. The Beskydy mountains. When searching for our history of our region I touched on an interesting article in a journal of national history called Tešínsko. The name of the article was "Discovery of a greyhound in Chotěbuz-Podobora Hillfort" and it sounded incredible to me! As a lover of greyhound, my heart rejoiced and I started reading immediately.
pic.. No. 1
The author of the article is RNDr. Miriam Nývltová Fišáková, PhD. from the Archeologie Institute of Czech Academy of Sciences in Brno which took part in research of this discovery. I contacted back the Doctor Miriam Nývltová Fišáková got some further information in order to recount you the story of the dog bone.
Everything started back in 2005 when exploring the fortified settlement. With different archeological finds, they also found rests of animals from several periods of this area settlement. From the Hallstatt Period-a late Bronze Age, the beginning of Iron Age and especially from the period of an important settlement of pre-Great Moravian Empire. This is the second half of the 8th and second third of the 9th century. And this is an approximate period where the dog bone discovery comes from and which caused a huge research. The research that took ten more years and had a great impact on history of dogs.
It has been a tradition for a while that the last summer weekend we stay at Konopiště, the popular place of the Whippet Club of English Racing Dogs Club Shows. This year was a record concerning registered number of breeders. All the more I appreciate the results my whippet girls achieved. The show was also special to me as there were shown two of the litter "A" pupies. Everything was perfectly organised, the winners were hung with handmade ribbons and obtained some gifts from patrons that were really generous this year. The invitation was accepted by two whippet experts from the country of their origin, The Great Britain. The honourable judges Sandra Marshall and Jennifer North-Row. I was honoured to be evaluated by them with a excellent mark.
global results of both days: here
DAY ONE
Saturday 21st September - Club Show conferring CAC and title "Club Winner"
The Saturday morning welcomed us with quite low temperatures, but the sky was bright and sunny. Finally the Sun reheated us during the day. I was also reheated when opening the Show Catalogue with 131 whippets signed and 11 greyhounds. It was record number. As usual, the most members were in our class. Even the puppy class, where Berroo and Olin were showing, was literally packed.
The open class had 20 signed bitches. When I realised I had to share my Valentina with 19 other bitches, first thing that came on my mind was to leave as soon as possible with no results. When I see the thing with hindsight, I realise how successful we really were. The "cursed" second place was again ours. The little Berroo in the female puppy class had a competition of 6 other females and the fact that she showed in an exhibition circle for the first time, did not steal any of her charm. The little Olin was showing with 5 other dogs and he was so stressed that when judging on the table, one of his testicles disappeared and it gave him worse mark and placing. He was amazing anyway.
The summary of results - day one:

DAY TWO
Sunday 22.nd September - Club Show conferring CAC
Sunday weather copied the day before. We were welcomed by a beautiful chilly morning of the last summer day. As well as the number of signed dogs, which was 133 whippets and 10 greyhounds, copied the precedent day. The difference was in judges who exchanged. Valentina was judged by judge who judges Berroo and Olin the day before and vice versa. Again we repeated the precedent success and Valentina in very occupied open class, advanced to the final of 6 excellent females. This time without placement. I consider it a success in view of qualities of the shown females that were coming not only from the Czech Republic.
Litlle Berro lined up in the baby class with a professional expression that charmed the judge. She granted her the mark Very Promising and the second place including another nomination for the best head and movement in breed. Olin was more sure of himself as well and it projected on his rating. He also received the mark Very Promising and the third place. I was very proud of him.
Summary of results - day two:
ꙮ CZ JCH My Crazy Valentine Toomie Trishel
- judge Jennifer North-Row (UK), open class: EXC. /14, nominated for the best head and movement in breed, beautiful rating
ꙮ Amber Room Baya Nobles

Altough it does not look like that, a whippet is a real hunting dog. I decided with my girls to head to Rybnik in Poland to the Hunting Dogs National Show. We were welcomed by a pleasant environment and nicely organised show accompanied by a beautiful weather- real Indian Summer.
Finally we broke our curse of second place and Valentina won her class and took part in the best member in show facing the winning dog, junior and best veteran. We were beaten by the male dog and Valentina only won the title BOS (Best of Opposite Sex), but considering the qualities of the winning dog, which we could discuss for hours, I am totally satisfied as I know that Valentina was the best whippet at this show. It happens that the show is not gained by the dog, but by the one who holds the leash. This is the reality of dogs shows ... I was not familiar with the judge.
Anyway by gaining the title CWC/CAC we started the run after Polish Beauty Champion. That is why it was not the last Polish exhibition and we cannot wait to participate in the next ones!
We also took our little Berroo with us to soak the show atmosphere and she was very slick. During a break I put on her the show leash and tried to show her around the exhibition circle. She was so impressed that she even forgot to misbehave and ran neatly by me. Her stand was not as good, but she will definitely get better. She is incredible!

A beautiful environment of the Flora Exhibition Space in Olomouc became a venue of the Whippet Club Show the first September Saturday which was organised by Whippet Club by NDS Floracanis Olomouc.
Unfortunately the rainy weather spoiled usually amazing cynological experience which have been taking place for the second time in gardens of exhibitions in Olomouc. Apart from the dog show, there is also an interesting prorgam for families with children.
This Show was anyhow the premiere for our little Berroo and especially for Valentina which showed publicly for the first time after her birth. Berroo did not exhibit this time but I took her to soak the show atmosphere and I have to state that she really mastered the situation perfectly. Valentina showed herself in a great way, but it was enough only for that cursed second place.
