7th July 2026 - The moment when everything goes quiet and suddenly everything is empty is my least favorite. I've been looking forward to it all this time, to finally rest, but when it happens, I have tears in myeyes. Today, July 7th, our brindle beauty Larimar left for his new home. Hopefully the two sevens in his date will bring him only happiness in life. A very nice young couple, Katka and Honza, came to pick him up and they will all live together in a house with a garden in Bludov in the Šumpersk region, where he will also have other four-legged family friends.
Lyra, a whippet from litter A, lives in the same city with her family, so when you meet her, Larinka, give her my regards.

2nd July 2026 - Today my most favorite Raldicek left for the big world. He will live in Prague with a very nice couple Anderson from Brazil and Thayenne from Japan. He may not understand them for a while, but he will definitely be the most spoiled dog in the world, who will know several world languages. Radlic is such an all-white and a robber in one. A very sensitive dog, who liked to cuddle and cuddle whenever there was a chance. I will really miss him. It is strange that in every litter there is always a dog that grabs my heart. And he will remain in it forever, my Radlicek, Emerald my emerald.
I hope to see you again soon...

27th June 2026 - JAgátka left us today as the second one. Our little princess, who could easily have been called Johanka, because just like Joan of Arc, she constantly led a group of little whippet boys into battle. In her new home, she will also have four-legged friends, this time two female Labradors. I am very curious to see how long it will take for her to wrap her paw around them and command them. Agátka will live in Ostrava Radvanice, so she will remain a member of our North Moravian gang and we will definitely see each other at some joint meeting. She will also have a very important mission, because she will go to a special school for children with learning disabilities with her new owner, who is a special educator, and help them on their path to adulthood.
Don't be too angry, my only "gem" girl.

26th June 2026 - Someone always has to be first. This time, Black Peter fell on Onyx. Our easygoing Onyx is leaving with my friend and her family to a nearby village. We will have him close by and that is very good, because as I wrote below, I have never experienced a puppy with such an easygoing nature and so I will be very happy to see him continue to grow up. He will have a wonderful time. The new owners are long-time Whippet lovers, and when the last of the two Whippet boys they had died last year, it was clear that they would not be able to last long without a Whippet. I am very happy that Onyx will be with them.
I wish you a beautiful and comfortable life, my dark nose.

Eighth Week and Here We Go ...
22nd June 2026 - The week has come when the puppies' equipment is slowly being completed. The week when they have had their first vaccinations, are microchipped and have their Euro Passports issued. They are simply ready to go out into the world. But before that happens, they will stay here for another week, some even two. Since the weather is really kind to us, they will have more days together spent in the garden, in the corners of the rockeries and hedges.
I have to say that this litter is very independent. I don't know if it's because there are only four of them or if they are just that easygoing, but they really can handle playing on their own, they run around outside wherever they want, they don't come up with any nonsense that would endanger them, they just play hide and seek, hunt each other and fight. Basically, they don't require my constant presence at all, which I really didn't know with previous litters.
They finally got on the couch. I tried to delay it as much as possible because I know I won't be able to sit on the couch anymore, there won't be room for me there, but it just can't be done. The couch and the Whippet have always belonged together. So they happily roll around there, jump, lie down and sleep. We have everything documented, take a look at the photo documentation from the whole week below.

Last Photoshoot in Seven Weeks of Age
16th Juny 2026 - The last photoshoot of the puppies at the age of seven weeks. Usually we photograph these puppies at the age of eight weeks, but this time we made an exception because these puppies are very coordinated in their movements and can stand up very well on their own. So with our support and a treat, the photoshoot was done in a few minutes. Just absolutely gorgeous. As always, I will attach a description of their personality to the photo of each one of them, as I managed to observe it during the entire time we spent together.
Gemstone Onyx Baya Nobles - "ONY"
An absolute sweetheart and easy-going person. In every litter there is a puppy that is a little "different" from his siblings, but Onyx is really different. He likes to just lie down and watch what is going on around him. Very cautious since birth and as if he was thinking whether a given activity will bring him any benefit or not. But be careful, he is not just someone you put where you put him. He can also fight a lot over a toy that he has just chosen and someone wants to take it from him. His gaze is charming, I am very happy that he will live in the next village and I will be able to see him whenever I want.
Gemstone Larimar Baya Nobles - "LARI"
The only puppy from the litter that inherited his father's brindle color. A very nicely built dog with a masculine expression and character. He's not afraid of anything, he's always running around and is calm even on his own. He's a real badass. He doesn't go far for a bite if one of his siblings or maybe my leg gets in his way. He's everywhere, he's cheerful and very communicative. His black eyes glow like hellish embers and they don't deny the devil in his body. I'm really looking forward to seeing him grow up.
Gemstone Agate Baya Nobles - "AGÁTKA"
The only female from the litter. Our little princess who can easily keep her three brothers in order. Quite a naughty girl since she was little, but I must say that the older she gets, the less naughty she gets. When you look at her, you see such an angelic face, but just like her brindle brother, she has a mischievous look in her eyes. For a stolen toy or perhaps an inappropriate bite from one of her siblings, she doesn't hesitate to start a crazy battle and then turn around and walk away with elegance. Just a princess in armor.
Gemstone Emerald Baya Nobles - "RALDÍK"

The Seventh Week Is Here
15th June 2026 - The seventh week is always marked by microchipping, vaccinations and vet checks for us. This time it will be no different. It didn't happen exactly on this day like last year, but in three days the puppies will have their first vaccinations and will have an identification microchip.
This week we usually take the first standing photos of the puppies. It's always a lot of work, the little ones usually don't cooperate because they don't have such good coordination of movement yet. This time I decided to take photos only today, in the completed seventh week. And it was a complete pleasure. The puppies stood on the exhibition table like professionals. Soon I will show off photos of the individual puppies together with a description of the nature of each one of them, as I always do before they go to their new homes.
Otherwise, the little ones spend most of the day playing or relaxing outside or at home. At home, they chose a place by the French window overlooking the garden. They have beds and a bunch of toys here, which are basically everywhere, at home and in the garden. When it's colder outside, the sun warms them nicely outside the window. What I mentioned last time still applies. At home, they are angels and outside, they stick out their horns. Only when I take out the camera, they are the most worthy creatures you have ever seen. They immediately lie down and obediently rest, which is shown in the following photos.

Six weeks - we are explorers
8th Juny 2026 - The weather was kind to us all week, so the little explorers spent a lot of time outside. Every day they gained more and more courage in discovering new corners of the garden. Their favorite, to my great joy, was the clearing, where they had to taste every flower, leaf or stick. And not only that, they leave their brown gifts behind them everywhere, which they can put in incredible places. Then I go around like a mushroom picker and collect, but I don't really take the basket with me. Not that I wouldn't fill it.
Of course, they don't just explore the outside, but also the inside of our house. They don't enjoy that much anymore and I can safely say that their favorite place in the house is their playpen, which they have in the former children's room. They go to the playpen to play, even if the door is open and they could run wild all over the house. They are really very calm and undemanding puppies at home, who can play on their own. What applies in the house, but unfortunately does not apply outside. It's as if someone changed them in a second. They are like a bag of fleas and sometimes I need eyes in the back.
The bravest is Larimar, he has no self-preservation instinct at all. He goes headlong into everything and everywhere. Behind him is the little princess Agata, who was definitely supposed to be a boy too, but someone changed his mind at the last minute. He leaves no one and nothing alone. Emerald, as he was also full of people everywhere, calmed down a bit and became insecure in the outdoor environment. And our Onyx, he is an absolute easy-going guy, he doesn't rush into anything headlong, he is cautious and even timid and needs more time to get to know everything. I am really looking forward to what we will experience together in the next few weeks.
Below are a lot of photos from the whole week. Our one-year-old Mesa, who is the littermate, appears a lot in them. Mesa has finally found someone who is mentally on her level and can do mischief with her that the adult females in the pack are not going to appreciate.

Week five - First Time Outside
1st June 2026 - The fifth week is always marked by the first discovery of the outside world. The weather was kind to us this time, as it was one of the warmest weeks of May in our country. I built a spacious playpen for the puppies in the garden and they began to discover grass, dirt, the warm sun, a pleasant breeze and cold water in a bowl.
The little ones took their first steps on the grass the previous week, but it was only for a while and they were still quite tired, so they slept more than they explored. This week was different. They were already confident, so they enjoyed playing outside much more. I moved the playpen according to the situation in the garden, so they had different experiences and stimuli each time. They are slowly getting to know the whole pack, which was unobtrusively circling the playpen under the watchful eye of Lisbon. The youngest Mesa is the most excited of the little cousins. It's no wonder, mentally he's getting a lot closer to them.
The personalities of the individual puppies will also be beautifully revealed, but more on that next time. Photo documentation and weights follow as always.

Four Weeks - The Show Goes On
25. května 2026 - It's hard to believe that these little creatures are four weeks old today. I love this age. The puppies aren't so playful yet that I don't know where to jump, but they are already starting to be very active, showing their personalities and even starting to look like little whippets. A lot happens in the fourth week. The puppies get their first taste of meat, try their first posing in front of the camera and finally even look outside for the first time, weather permitting. And this year it worked out because we had sunshine for most of the week.
I'll come back to their first meat meal. As always, they were given finely minced beef from a young bull and egg yolk. They started eating with caution, but systematically. They surrounded the plate and munched nicely without rolling around in the food, as puppies usually do for the first time. They really ate well for the first time, played for a while and fell asleep within a few minutes during the game. And sleep actually ends all their activities. They were just as exhausted by posing for the camera for a few minutes, as was being outside in the playpen. They sniffed the grass for the first time, and it was clear that they enjoyed it. The grass was so attractive that their mouths were full of it in no time. It took me quite a bit of work to get rid of the grass.
I took a lot of photos this week, so I'll attach some here, as always with a table of the puppies' current weights.

Three Weeks Old - Discovering The World
18th May 2025 - The content of their three-week puppy life is sleep, sleep and more sleep and then food, food and more food. Now that they have all opened their eyes and started to hear each other, in addition to those two things, they are also starting to be interested in what is happening around them. Their personalities are slowly showing. Last week they moved to a bigger playpen, so they have more space and you can see that some are more courageous and others prefer not to go on a trip around the playpen.
So far I can say that they are all very nice. Some are more relaxed, some less so. Emerald is the most active so far, he has already discovered toys and is starting to nibble on them and play with them. He also nibbles on his siblings. The others are happy to join in too, but they get tired faster and probably don't enjoy it much yet, unlike Emerald.
We trimmed the claws again, they have all exceeded 1500 g and are gaining weight nicely. They are starting to look a bit more like whippets, they are not the fat piglets like last week, although their weight is going up. Here is another photo session from last week and a table with the weights of the individual puppies.

We Are Two Weeks OLd
11th May 2026 - Another week has passed, and before you know it, the puppies have gained over 1 kg in weight. They are really fat. No wonder, they just suck milk or sleep all day. They are incredibly easy-going puppies, just like their mother Lisbonka, who is very caring and calm, has enough milk and probably very good quality, depending on how well the little ones are gaining weight. The visiting season is slowly starting, both from future owners and just people who want to come and see the puppies. Lisbonka welcomes everyone with a wagging tail and proudly shows them her babies, she is simply amazing.
I cut the babies' claws again this week and today I also canceled the birthing pool. I built their first playpen because the puppies are slowly opening their eyes and today the strongest and firstborn Onyx climbed out of the pool, which is always a signal to me that the peace is over and the fun is starting.
In addition to Onyx, the smallest of the boys, Emerald, also opened his eyes and Larimar will follow him tomorrow. Our only princess doesn't really want to look at the world yet, but her eyes will definitely open tomorrow. For each litter, we predict who will win the "first eye slit" competition, so this time I can say that I was wrong. As always, I predicted that it would be the smallest of the litter, Agátka, but this time it was unexpectedly the opposite.
A weight gain chart and photo documentation of the whole week are a must.

Our Puppies Are One week Old
4th May 2026 - They are four musketeers and they are just a week old. Or rather, three musketeers and one princess. They are doing well, suckling nicely and gaining weight, to the point that they have doubled their birth weights. They all already have their names, which are in the sign of precious stones. Mom Lisbon is taking good care of them, she has enough milk, so the first week passed in complete peace and order.
They are not doing much yet, they are just crawling around in the birthing pool, in between they take a nap or grab their mom's nipple and suck milk. The life of such a week-old puppy is not much of a challenge yet, unless I count the fight for the nipple, but that is not really the case, because this time there are twice as many nipples as puppies. Yesterday I even trimmed their claws so that they do not scratch mom's belly while sucking milk. So we can report that after a week, everything is absolutely fine with us. Well, it won't be long. They'll be opening their eyes next week.
I'm attaching a weight gain chart and lots of photos from the whole week.

The following is an overview of puppies at 2 days old
8th February 2025 - The puppies are doing well. Below I will introduce you to the single puppies in the order they were born. I also list their birth weight and their "operational" names, color markings and names in the pedigree. The puppies were named after gemstones and since it's the letter "G" next, the entire litter will start with the nickname "Gemstone".

56th day of pregnancy - 8th week
22nd April 2026 - We are smoothly approaching the end of the 8th week of pregnancy. The foetuses grow very fast, they are more than 75% birth size and measure 140 mm. The organs of puppies are already developed. Lungs are the last organ to be developed. The body is covered with hair, the hair is less visible on their paws. Claws are fully developed and the skin pigmentation start to occur. The movements of foetuses are visible and tangible. If the female dog is lying, we can see the foetuses as well. Lisboa relaxes a lot and looks for a convenient birth place. She still has a good appetite.

49th day of pregnancy - 7th week
15th April 2026 - It has been 7 weeks of pregnancy. A fast development of embryos continue. The uterus takes 2/3 of the abdominal cavity. The X-ray shows skeletons of puppies and we can see an exact number of embryos. We count skulls and backbones of puppies which measure approximately 85 mm and average 75% birth size. Hair on the bodies of embryos continue to grow intensively. Lisboa gains weight, a mammary gland gets bigger and the hair on it thins and is falling out. In this period a female can start losing her appetite as embryos push on her inner organs and especially on her digestive system. But it is not Lisboa's case. She still enjoys her food!
weight: 17,1 kg

8th April 2026 - Smoothly but surely we are ending the 6th week of pregnancy. It's the period of a very fast fetus development. We can see the first movements on ultrasound. The feti have 30% total birth weight and they measure approximately 65 mm. The sexual system of puppies begin to develop, the ossification of bones continue. We can notice first signs of hair on their heads. Lisboa starts to gain weight, the uterus and the region around ribs get bigger as well. I can also observe a slight enlargement of a mammary gland. The bitch is getting calmer and more vigilant.

1st April 2026 -
We are in the middle of pregnancy, the embryo turns into the fetus. The fetus resembles a lot a miniatute dog and has approximately 20% birth size. It measures around 27 mm. All the main organs have already developed and we can see the heartbeat on ultrasound. The scull and jaw ossification are finished, the whiskers begin to grow on the foreface. The toes start to grow, the ossification of nose area, ribs and limb bones is in process. The dead fetus can be reabsorbed by the 35th day, later it leaves as a miscarried litter during the birth.

Lisbon's pregnancy was confirmed today!
20th March 2026 - The secret of Lisbon's belly was revealed today. At the end of February we took a trip to nearby Krakow, Poland, where a handsome young Italian Whippet with a poetic name has been living for almost two years
*** Escanor Dell' Isola Memia ***
Their love affair was rewarded with the birth of a new life, which we are really looking forward to. This litter will be a combination of successful world-famous southern lines together with a pinch of English classics and my very favorite northern prowess.
During today's examination, my fellow veterinarian and I counted a beautiful 5-6 embryos. So keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well!
