6th - 7th September 2025 - The very nice setting of the castle garden of Loučeň Castle hosted the annual two-day club show of Greyhound and Whippet Club this year. The excellently prepared and organized show was only supposed to be a test run of our two youngsters in circles and fun for Thor and Galileo, just so they wouldn't get out of practice. We didn't have the slightest hope of what kind of success we would eventually leave the show with. My heart as a breeder is happy and with a great deal of humility I dare say that my breeding has at least a little meaning.
Saturday morning started quite rainy and it looked like it would rain all day. Fortunately the weather cleared up, the sun came out around noon and shone throughout the show, including Sunday. Two absolutely amazing judges, breed specialists and breeders, Ms. Randi Juliussen from Norway (Villwhip kennel) and Mr. Thomas Münch from Germany (FlicFlac kennel) accepted the invitation to judge.
On Saturday, the first day of the show, the females were judged by Mr. Thomas Münch and the males by Mr. Randi Juliussen. The second day they took turns, which means that we have critiques from both judges, in which they did not spare praise. We had the most work with our youngsters, as it was their first time at such a big event and in the ring. Cusco was handled by Zorka, who had to struggle with him a bit, and I struggled no less with Mesa, who decided that everything she had learned at home about running in the ring and showing off would be forgotten and she would be incredibly afraid of everything and everyone. However, Thor and Gali performed like professionals and made us extremely happy. I have to say, especially Galileo. With Thor, you kind of expect it.

What can I say in conclusion? As I wrote, we never dreamed that this show would bring another BOB (Best of Breed) for Thor. By the way, in his short show career in the Czech Republic, this is already the third one, each time from a Club Show. This means that Thor won BOB in each of the three Whippet clubs that are registered in the Czech Republic. And as the icing on the cake, he also won the "Best in Show" title on Sunday and our Galileo was certified and became the stud dog. To became a stud dog also came at the age of 3,5 our "Dayet Made My Day Baya Nobles" aka Dobby with his owners. I was very happy to see them.
Once again, I would like to thank everyone who kept their fingers crossed and cheered us on, the organizers for the beautiful exhibition and the sponsors for the many gifts. Last but not least, also for the photos by Cernohubova.com.
